A 1964 episode of the popular Australian crime drama series. The country has 50-year copyright terms for TV broadcasts. This is incorrectly listed as the first successful Australian drama TV series, although there had been a handful of successful mini-series on ABC prior to this (also, soaps "Autumn Affair" and "The Story of Peter Grey", both intended to run a year, were reasonably well-received). Nevertheless, the success of this series resulted in an increase in local drama production, and the experience gained from TV production helped result in a revival of the Australian film industry in the 1970s. I suppose Americans would probably find it very low-budget, but it isn't bad (keep in my that Australia had only first begun "official" television broadcasting in 1956, which was initially limited to two cities. Much more of the country had TV by 1964 but they were still operating on tight budgets) .
